Three points should be clear after reading Bill Lee's input to the other two threads that have been active regarding attendance at the World Championships that start in Muncie on 4 July. (This is irrespective of whatever "reliable source" has been used that seems to have created a lot of unnecessary confusion.) Bill Lee is probabably the quintessential source on this matter since he is the World Championships Event Director and has been the principal organizer to make this event happen. I strongly recommend anyone that is interested in the World Championships read all of Bill's input on those other threads.

1. There is no fee or charge to be a spectator at this World Championships. There is a Supporter fee of $50.00 for those who are participating in any one of several functions during the competition period. This has nothing to do whatsoever for any individual who wishes to be a spectator at the competition.

2. For those who are planning on practicing at the field during the World Championships period in preparation for the Nats following the World Championships, please read Bill Lee's note at

http://www.clstunt.com/htdocs/dcforum/DCForumID1/9397.html#6

3. There is also a rumor out there that photographs are required of an individual to get onto the World Championships site. (This is probably a classic case where several peices of information were minsinterpreted and passed on as fact before checking a knowledgeable source.) Individual team members of the various national teams have been asked to provide passport type photographs to the AMA which will be used to publish a program containing biographical infomation on all of the competitors. The photographs will also be used for individual badges for the each Team Member. This does not apply to supporters or spectators.

Another item of interest. The AMA has posted bulletins regarding the World Championships on their website. If you are planning on attending the World Championships, these make worthwhile reading.

Thanks, Keith and Bill, for clarifying.

I believe that the U.S.A. and AMA will put on the best World Championship event ever, thanks to a terrific site as well as a great team of volunteers.

I hope to get to Muncie to watch our four Team Members vie for the top spot!

See Ya

Hope you can be there to enjoy the flying and the ambiance. But let me remind all, that while in this stunt-centric forum, the team may be thought of always as the four in F2B, there are actually four events of which F2B is one.

And, as it turns out, for this as well as the last World Champs, not even the largest of the four!

When you're at Muncie for the World Champs, take a walk around and watch the others as well: just as in F2B, it will be the finest CL competition on the planet!

Regards,

Bill

Bill.....Why would it be the last world event? I must have missed something.

"Last", as in "last preceeding" - not "last" as in "last ever".

Now you see how some misunderstandings get started..

Can someone pick me up a copy of one of those programs?

AWESOME!!! Maybe a once in a lifetime event for most everyone in the CL community.

Sends shivers down my spine. I am so excited!

I suppose I'm being overly pessimistic, but I can't help thinking, Hmmm: a hundred non-US citizens traveling to the USA, TSA and model plane boxes. While most will have no problems, almost certainly some will, TSA being what it is.

But then, TSA seems to gather its greatest thrills from harassing US citizens, so likely none of the competitors will have any problem at all.

Sorry, a recent trip I took has renewed all my loathing and contempt for TSA, so I suppose I'm just being paranoid.

We ( the German team ) wouldn't have dared to bring our models in the airplane in which we will fly. So we sent it with Fedex. Sent it on Monday 21, arrived on Friday 25 ( we fly on Thursday July 1) . We got much help from AMA. So a big THANK YOU to Liza Johnson and Steve Kaluf. claus

I am sure that West Side Park in south Muncie is not considered a part of the Nats site and possibly there is even one more paved circle within 20 miles of the AMA site. Further, I bet most international competitors could not be early at this point.
